A better enquiry starts with better details
A useful sourcing enquiry gives both the buyer and supplier enough detail to discuss a relevant offer. These five areas make the conversation clearer.
Start with the product
Name the commodity and the form you need. For example, turmeric fingers and turmeric powder are different buying requirements. Add the intended application and any origin preference.
Write down measurable requirements
Share the parameters that matter to your operation. Avoid relying only on phrases such as “premium quality”. If you have a technical specification, provide it before sample discussions.
Connect quantity with packing
State the initial quantity, likely repeat requirement and preferred packing. Bulk bags, small retail packs and a private-label format involve different commercial considerations.
Name the destination and timeline
Include the destination country and port, your preferred delivery basis and the period in which the goods are needed. Shipment planning cannot be separated from the destination.
Set document expectations early
List any supplier records, product tests or certificates you need. Agree what can be supplied and when, before confirming an order.
